MATT + LUCY

Back in May 2012 we tied the knot after many months of preparation, printing, sewing and crafting. Looking back it is at this point in time that the idea of Basil & Ford was first seeded. We wanted to design our own invitations and searched everywhere for someone that could print them for us. We looked at letterpress and screen printing (and a couple of specialised digital printers) but those that could create what we were looking charged huge amounts and everyone else said no.

So after some research we found The London Print Studio so off we trotted down to Notting Hill, picked up a squeegee, had a quick refresher morning in the wonderful world of screen printing and off we went. Invitations, rsvp cards, info inserts, table plans, table names and whole plethora of delightful wedding touches came to life.

Our Traditionally Modern wedding range is based on this theme so you can see how it can come to life with all the little touches. Here are a few photos of our incredible day.

I was lucky enough that my gorgeous and extremely talented friend Roxana Didsbury was with me in the morning to do my hair and make up. We had a trial run and knew what needed to be done and I was totally at ease and had such a fabulous start to my day surrounded by my closest friends and family.

And last but not least we had the wonderful Douglas Fry as our wedding photographer. He had the relaxed style that we were looking for and can capture a moment without being noticed. We were over the moon with the final images and highly recommend Douglas to anyone looking for a wedding or portrait photographer. For all the photos from our wedding you can visit his website: http://www.douglasfry.com/lucy-and-matt/

We wanted to send out a thank you to all our guests for making our day so special. A card just wouldn’t cut the mustard. Our guests had to wait three months but then they received a 12 page full sized newspaper full of all our favourite images including many from the photo booth. We wrote messages on the back page, tied up with string and finished with a tag and one of our bright coloured stickers.
